McDermott, Parker Headline AP All-American Team

Doug McDermott was a unanimous choice for the AP All-American First Team. McDermott is the first player to be on the All-American team in three straight seasons since Patrick Ewing and Wayman Tisdale in 1985.

Shabazz Napier, Sean Kilpatrick and Russ Smith were also seniors named to the All-American First Team, while Jabari Parker was the fifth member.

The second team consisted of Nick Johnson, Andrew Wiggins, Nik Stauskas, Melvin Ejim and T.J. Warren.

Bryce Cotton was named Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Doug McDermott, Austin Chatman, LaDontae Henton, Gene Teague and Semaj Christon.

Doug McDermott of Creighton has been named Big East Player of the Year.

McDermott was joined on the All-Big East First Team by James Bell, Semaj Christon, Bryce Cotton, D'Angelo Harrison and Markel Starks.

On the All-Big East Second Team are Kadeem Batts, Kellen Dunham, Fuquan Edwin, Davante Gardner, Jayvaughn Pinkston and D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera.

Edwin was also named Big East Defensive Player of the Year, while Billy Garrett received Rookie of the Year honors.
